There is a raging debate on The WAFs group on LinkedIn (worth joining if you hadn't done so yet) focusing on what a WAF is and how it is different than UTM, IPS, NG-FW and the like. Naturally many UTM vendors jumped on the wagon to proclaim their suitability for the task. I think this shows how much WAFEC is about defining WAFs and not just about evaluating them.
