[WEB SECURITY] Decommissioning Applications.

Hello All,
Does anyone have any information / resources around secure practices for
decommissioning of web applications?

P.S: I've searched and found a few resources but they proved to be
inadequate. Any hints / pointers in the right direction would be greatly
appreciated.
